Gratin Parmentier Recipe

* Ingredients :

° 3 large russet potatoes, peeled, whole
° 1 pound minced meat
° 1 diced white onion
° 2 tsp parsley. minced
° 1 teaspoon paprika
° 1 teaspoon salt
° 1 teaspoon black pepper
Béchamel sauce:
° 2 tablespoons butter
° 2 tablespoons of flour
° 1-1/4 cups hot milk
° 1 pinch of salt
° pinch of black pepper
°  2 c mozzarella cheese

* Methods 

   In a large saucepan of boiling salted water, add the three potatoes and let it boil for 15 minutes, just to the boiling point.)
Remove the potatoes from the water and place them on a cutting board to cool enough to handle. Cut into 1/4 inch slices.This plate requires a glass baking dish with a flat round bottom.Spray well with cooking spray.Brush the bottom of the plate with potatoes.Arrange the potatoes on the sides of the plate.(You will need to add the potato slices after placing the meatballs on the plate.)

Preheaat oven 400 degres.
Mixing minced meat, onion, parsley, paprika, salt & pepper. Shape into 15 meatballs of equal size.Melting butter in bottomed sauce-pan.Add flour and cook, stirring constantly, until the pasta is soft and slightly foaming, but do not brown for 2 minutes.Add warm milk and continue stirring until the sauce thickens. Boil. Add salt and pepper to taste, reduce the heat and let the mixture cook, stirring, for another 2-3 minutes. Take off the fire.Place the meatballs on each potato slice in the bottom of the glass dish.Place the potato slice in the center of each meatball for a nice pattern.Pour the béchamel sauce over each meatball, filling the pocket around the meatball.Add the grated cheese to the top of each meatball, filling the pocket around the meatball.
Baking 400 degres about 15 min .
