Homemade Chocolate Turtles - Quick, Easy, No Baking & Only 4 Ingredients!Tough, malleable, salty and sweet! Homemade always tastes better! WL !!

I have always loved turtles and decided to make one.Everything tastes better at home, even turtles.
Lately, I can't get enough of the mix of pecans, caramel, and chocolate.

* Ingredients :

°  8 ounces pecan halves (I used roasted and lightly salted)
°  25 unwrapped caramel squares (about 1 cup full)
°  1/4 cup cream or half and half, divided
°  About 16 ounces roughly chopped chocolate, melted (I used 8 ounces dark milk and 8 ounces milk, both from Trader Joe's Pound Plus bars)

* Methods

 Line two baking sheets or large plates with parchment paper.It is useful to put it in the refrigerator or freezer.Make small piles of walnuts using 5-6 per stack.Cover the nuts to reduce gaps so the caramel does not leak.In a microwave-safe bowl, add the caramel and half of the cream (the rest) and heat over high heat until melted.This may take a total of 3-4 minutes, but you must stop and stir the mixture every 30 seconds to avoid burning.Alternatively, melt the caramel on the stove over low heat, stirring gently and frequently. ** (See notes below on melting the caramel)
Add about 1 teaspoon of caramel on top of each nut; Sit aside.In a microwave-safe bowl, add 8 ounces of chocolate and heat until melted, about 1 minute on high heat.Heat for 15 seconds until the chocolate can reconnect without issue.I love making small batches of chocolate and recommend doing so rather than reheating all 16 ounces at once; Melt more chocolate if needed.Add about 2 tablespoons of chocolate to the top of each nut block, placing on top and lowering to the sides.Add a pinch of sea salt to each turtle, if desired.
Let the turtles harden at room temperature (it will take several hours) or in the refrigerator or freezer (about 15 minutes) before serving.

Enjoy !
